Established in 2003, the Boland Falconry Club (BFC) emerged from the Cape Falconry Club, making the Western Cape the first province in South Africa to host two falconry clubs under Cape Nature’s auspices. The club transitioned from an association membership format to a contract-based membership in 2007, aligning its operations with other paid membership clubs and organizations.
BFC currently boasts 26 active members, most of whom live and work around the Cape Peninsula and surrounding towns. For many members, falconry is more than a sport; it’s a passion and a way of life. Many of the members have been flying birds for their whole life.
